What inspired you to start this business/practice?
I’m an experienced midwife, seasoned mom of 3, and a passionate educator. For over a decade, I’ve been a full scope midwife, providing prenatal care, witnessing the miracle of birth time and time again, caring for women in the postpartum period, and providing gynecological care. In the last year, I found myself wanting to focus solely on women's health before and after pregancy, so at The Village Midwife, my clinical practice focuses on helping women find balance and optimal wellness through the integration of education, lifestyle modifications, supplements, botanicals, natural remedies, and medication. It is my true passion to partner with my clients to help them achieve better health and to provide holistic gynecology care to women throughout their lifespan, from adolescence through postmenopaus
How long have you been in this business/practice?
I've been a midwife for 11 years, this practice is brand new.
What keeps you going every day?
Being able to help women in a way that is respectful, compassionate, and holistic - valuing every piece of their life that affects their well-being.
What's your favorite part of your business/practice?
Being able to take the time to sit with women and listen, come up with a plan to improve their health and well-being, and watch them follow through with the plan to optimize their health.
What makes your business/practice unique?
I'm the only midwife practice in Suffolk County focusing solely on women's health outside of pregnancy. This allows me to really dive into the journey to health with my clients.
What is the best compliment you've received about your business/practice?
Women always say that they feel like they have had a therapy session and a nutrition session after they leave their visits for their annual exams. I love being able to take the time to provide more than the typical GYN visit.
What is one thing you would like the community to know about your business/practice?
Midwives don't only provide prenatal care and attend births. Midwives in the United States provide health care services to women of all ages. Midwife means “with woman.” Midwives partner with women to help make important health decisions, treat common problems, and guide women toward wellness. Midwives work with other members of a woman's health care team when needed, but a midwife may also be your primary care provider.
Do you have any special announcements that you want to share with the community?
On Saturday, May 8th, from 11am - 1pm, we are hosting a Mother's Day Celebration and Grand Opening. Join us for some fun!
